Kyra Hendrix

1. Kyra comes from an international background. She was born and raised in Colombia by her Dutch father and American mother. Having spent the first 19 years of her life in Colombia, she decided to check out her Dutch roots in 2009.
2. Dressage and horses have been extremely important to her throughout her life. She started riding at the tender age of four. It was love at first sight. Kyra represented Colombia in the national team at numerous national and international dressage events in Germany, Chile and New York.
3. She was lucky enough to work with Anky Van Grunsven. Nothing beats learning from the world’s best!
4. Travelling is one of her greatest passions. As part of her Bachelor’s degree, she managed to live in four different countries in a single year, including the Netherlands, China, the US and Colombia.
5. She is – what is defined as being – an online shoe shopping addict. She genuinely regrets not wearing all her shoes more often. And feels sorry for them: hidden away in her cupboard.
6. She loves the kick of adrenaline. It’s why you’re likely to find her riding rollercoasters, skydiving and – generally – doing all sorts of adventure sports. On her bucket list: skydiving in Australia.
7. And then there’s her passion for dancing. With a twist of Latin American spice (her hips don’t lie)!
8. Kyra believes in the power of teamwork and sharing ideas. One of her favourite quotes is by J.T. Stepanek: ‘Unity is strength. When there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.’
9. Planning defines her daily life. No matter if it’s to schedule or prepare for a meeting. Even outfits for the next day are carefully chosen the night before.
10. Her guilty pleasure? Watching TV series! She willingly admits Netflix has got her hooked: Grey’s Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries, Game of Thrones, Orphan Black, The Americans, Homeland … and more.
