1.  Maarten is originally from ‘De Randstad’. Born in Zoetermeer, grew up in Dordrecht, but quickly started pronouncing the G (GG) into a softer version (geeh) after moving to Nijmegen, where he studied Communication Sciences at the Radboud University of Nijmegen.
2. Moved to Eindhoven ‘by coincidence’ four years ago, because his girlfriend Lisanne went on to become an Emergency Medicine doctor. He had never been in Eindhoven before, but after one day of sight-seeing – by coincidence during DDW – found it to be a surprisingly interesting city.
3. After 4 years living in Eindhoven it was so much to their liking that they recently bought a house in Eindhoven. They are here to stay!
4. On Wednesdays Maarten is out of office, enjoying quality time with his 2-year-old son Mikke. They regularly can be found in a swimming-pool, playground, petting zoo or on the trampoline.
5. As a little boy Maarten had a talent for playing tennis, until he had to start serving overhand. Till this day he doesn’t know how to properly do that one 🙂
6. He can be found on his bike regularly, (Bianchi!) cycling around Eindhoven or preferably in the mountains. He started his career as a ‘social cyclist’ when climbing his first mountain in 2011 – the Mont Ventoux – with friends. In 2012, he really got a taste for it by cycling from Italy to the Netherlands together with Cycling Team Kelme Nijmegen during the Tour for Life, supporting Doctors Without Borders.
7. At least 1 week per year, he is enjoying the Austrian Alpes for snowboarding.
8. After practicing once a month on Saturdays for over 2 years in a wharf cellar in Utrecht together with men-choir Daan Zomer, they eventually gave a once-in-a-lifetime performance in a local pub. Net time of the performance was 10 minutes, the fun they had invaluable. Rumors are they will get back together for a revival…
9. Last year he went on a 2 month-sabbatical together with Lisanne & Mikke for a trip around Europe: from Slovenia to Croatia, through Italy and Corsica and France. Highly recommended! Especially the Dolomites in Italy are his favorite. Actually, he loves everything Italian.
10. Maarten is a hardcore Workflowy evangelist. Together with some adopted habits from methods like Getting Things Done, Zen to Do, Ikigai, Lifehacking and all works by Tim Ferris, he keeps himself organized.
